Description
Summary:X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, chemical and thermal analysis have been carried out on Ca,Ni amorphous phosphate solid solutions. The data reported are in agreement with the hypothesis that nickel stabilized the amorphous phase and inhibited the mechanism of apatite formation. The inhibitory effect of nickel on hydroxiapatite formation is larger than the one exhibited by Magnesium or Barium.
