Sumario:This paper analyzes the way in which corruption, under-stood as a moral critique of political activity, was incorpo-rated as a main trait of ordinary life in Argentina during the ‘90s. We focus on the way in which corruption was in-stalled as a recurring topic in the forms of social protest in the country during that period. The genesis of the link between corruption and protest is reconstructed setting the focus on some key episodes of contention. Perceptions of corruption do not translate directly into motivation for protest and mobilization nor they instill specific demands until the 2001 crisis. However, if we consider the evolution of social protest over the decade, it could be noticed that corruption was progressively incorporated into the vocab-ulary of mobilization as a significant element of criticism and confrontation with institutional politics.
