Sumario:Assessment of the depressant activity of differentconcentrations of eugenol in rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss)The use of depressants in aquaculture contributes togood management practices, offsetting neuroendocrineand physiological changes that arise during managementpractices that act as stressors affecting performance andsurvival of fish. The aim of this study was to evaluatethe depressant activity in rainbow trout of eugenol atconcentrations of 30, 50 and 75 mg/L respectively, usingspecimens belonging to a system of intensive farming. Theresult of experience found that eugenol is a drug easy to useand inexpensive. The concentrations used induces dosedependentanesthesia, which allow easy fish manipulation, without adverse events compromising their life during andafter administration.
