| Sumario: | As part of two doctoral theses, terrain corrections were computed in Tierra del Fuego island and in the western side of the province of Mendoza. While the first one is located in the southernmost region of Argentina, Mendoza is in the center-west part of this country. Terrain corrections were estimated using two methods: the classical integration of prism contribution and the integration using 2-D FFT technique. This work is aimed to discuss the results obtained by using both approaches and their applicability considering their advantages and disadvantages according to the regions of study. The analysis allowed us to conclude that classical integration has a better performance than FFT methods, especially in the highest regions. They showed a similar behavior in flat areas. Finally, the effect that the error of terrain corrections computation has on geoidal heights is also discussed and numerically tested.
