| Resumo: | This article analizes the intellectual profiles and the journalistic trajectories of the special envoys of the press from Buenos Aires to the Great War. We start from the hypothesis that the media coverage of this conflict made possible the emergence of a new kind of war journalism, which acquired its most specific delimitation around a group of journalists who, from their work in the cities and battlefields of Europe, outlined a professional profile and a singular narrative that allowed them to differentiate themselves from the rest of the correspondents of the Buenos Aires press. For that purpose, we will analyze the chronicles and itineraries of the figures that embodied in a more explicit way the “war correspondent” in the local press: Tito Livio Foppa, correspondent for the evening La Razón; Juan José Soiza Reilly, envoy of the morning La Nación and from the weekly Fray Mocho and Alejandro Sux, correspondent for the newspaper La Prensa |
