Descrição
Resumo:Objective: to determine the level of therapeutic adherence in patients with high blood pressure in a Family Medicine unit (fmu). Methods: a cross-sectional and descriptive study. Patients who suffered from systemic arterial hypertension (aht) and received treatment at the fmu no. 171 of Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico, from August to December 2016. The Morisky-Green-Levine (mgl) and Brief Medication Questionnaire (mnq) instruments were used to assess the compliance of medication in patients with hypertension. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics. Results: 348 patients with hypertension, which 32.47% (n=113) were male and 67.53% (n=235) female. Based on the mgl scale 52.01% (n=181) had adequate therapeutic adherence and 47.99% (n=167) did not have therapeutic adherence. The bmq scale showed that 52.30% (n=182) did not have therapeutic compliance and 47.70% (n=166) had therapeutic compliance. Conclusions: according to the obtained results in this study it was able to determine the level of adherence in patients with hypertension assigned to the fmu no. 171. Approximately 50% of the population with high blood pressure didn’t have a suitable adherence to treatment, this is an alarming fact since there is a risk of disability or premature death caused by complications and co-morbidities related to this disease.
