Description
Summary:This paper deals with the proposal of UNAM’s Distance Baccalaureate to educate citizens through its social science subjects. We define the meaning of citizenship and we then address four subject proposals of social sciences through which such civic construction is proposed. We then discuss a proposed teaching strategy for “Sustainable Development”, which aims to unify the four fundamental issues of subjects in Module Three, where we propose education for sustainably responsible citizens. Finally, we address the proposal to create a new optional course in law. This is meant as a learning strategy to strengthen values education in the distance modality.
