Sumario:Anorexia nervosa and bulimia are health problems that manifest themselves as eating behavior disorders that if they are not appropriately addressed may compromise the life of patients. The suspicion of adolescent eating disorders is related to the perception of family dysfunction. Prevention and treatment of eating disorders may be more effective if there is a family approach during adolescence; moments for a great opportunity for intervention, but at the same time a formidable commitment for Family physicians.
