| Sumario: | The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the evolution in the management of working time. The first normative regulations related to the working time were based on the limitation of the working day as a security and health measure. Later, working time was a matter of concern as it was considered as a scarce good that could be limited to distribute the work and reduce unemployment rates. Recently, the concern about working time lies in its qualitative aspect, that is to say, the management of the working time to adapt itself to the productive changes and the requirements of a globalized economy. |
