Descrição
Resumo:The geological characteristics of Los Humeros Caldera (19º42'N, 97°25'W) suggest that the mechanism of heat transfer is mostly of the conductive type. Assuming this mechanism and the available geological and geophysical data it is possible to compute the temperature field beneath the caldera. The procedure followed in this paper consists in solving the equation of conduction of heat by means of a Finite Difference (F-D) technique. The internal structure was provided by the available geological and geophysical data. The results obtained with the model allow to estimate the maximum area, where it is possible to find the high temperatures for geothermic energy development.
