| Resumo: | Migration from Mexico to the United States since 2008 enters a new stage with very particular characteristics, in other words, there is a new migratory dynamic driven by the economic crisis and the tightening of US immigration policies. In this context, migrants also act differently, reshaping the migratory process. The new migration dynamic forces us to consider the critical need to reassess the categories used in migration studies, especially regarding migration and mobility. Similarly, other concepts should be reconsidered to enrich the analysis such as experience and trajectory, to give the migrant subject a voice. The objective of the article is to analyze the use of the concept of migration and its articulation with the concept of mobility, for which a theoretical reflection is outlined that broadened the conceptual discussion of social research on contemporary migration scenarios. This is done through a specialized bibliographical review on the subject. As a result, the need to insert new categories such as experience, mobility and trajectory is projected to explain the new migratory dynamics. |
