Descrição
Resumo:The war in Yemen is one of the conflicts that most requires attention and analysis today. This text offers an analysis of one of the least-studied actors in this conflict: al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (aqpa). The paper seeks to show how this group has evolved over a long period, in response to the global, regional, and domestic Yemeni context. With the outbreak of war in 2015, the organization reinvented itself as a pole of power standing apart from the conflict between the Houthis and the Saudi Arabia-UAE coalition. This makes it essential to understand their role in the current war and the future implications for Yemen.
