Descripción
Sumario:[EN] This article analyses differences in intergenerational use of Catalan language related by college students from Barcelona, Valencia and Palma. Asked by a sociolinguistic questionnaire, they show important territorial differences, which correlate to different demolinguistic vitalities. However, there is some positive similarities, as a certain power of attraction by Catalan, even though in the places where it seems to be threatened by Spanish language, according to the drop in language transmission. Correlation between social characteristics (geo-linguistic origin, level of instruction, socioeconomic status) and language transmission is an indicator of its value as social capital.
