El fuerte valor paradigmático que ejercía la vida monástica queda manifiesto en la literatura pedagógica dedicada a las mujeres publicada en este periodo. Se analizan las Costituzioni per le monache (Constituciones de las Monjas, 1539) por Gian Matteo Giberti y los Ricordi lasciati alle monache (Recuerdos para las monjas, 1575) por Agostino Valier. Los dos textos contienen razones para la comprensión de las orientaciones pedagógicas de la época, que el autor destaca con referencias específicas al contexto histórico y mediante el respaldo de fuentes documentales y publicaciones.
