Sumario:The archaeomorphological analysis developed as part of the first author’s PhD, has reevaluated the historical road network systems and the origin and evolution of the Valencian cultural landscape. This paper aims at presenting the results for an area studied for the first time employing a combination of archaemorphological approaches, historical documentation, field survey, remote sensing and gis. This work has registered the survival of the main axes of a centuriated road system to the south of the river Xúquer-Magre, linked to the Roman city of Saetabis, matching with the traditionally assumed southern border of the territory of Valentia. Secondly, it has helped to identify the route of some principal roads in the area, such as the via Augusta. Multidisciplinarity and a long-term approach have brought high precision to this work’s results.
