Descrição
Resumo:[EN] Valencia suffered a dramatic flood in 1957. The flood was the causing factor which became the riverbed of the Turia River, crossing the whole city, in the biggest public park of Spain. The River Public Park was open for the first time in 1988, and since then, there have been constant changes on the old riverbed: gardens, sport areas, playgrounds, leisure zones and many other facilities addressed to fun activities. The last building constructed was "La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias" However, the most of these buildings and installations do not fulfill the necessary requirements in order to be enjoyed by all citizens. Some of the reasons of the current situation are the expansion in time (30 years) when there weren't any specific national or local rules, and also to the lack of social counciousness. This thesis focuses on the elements placed along the Turia River addressed to collective use. Its aim is to apply the most restrictive current rules between the local and the state regulations, in order to be a useful document for the proposal of the improvements and interventions executed under accessibility parameters and universal design to get a progressive adaptation and reach a Turia Garden accessible to all.
