Sumario:In contrast to the last constitutional process in Ecuador in 1998, the new Constituent Assembly has generated much debate around the topic of abortion, provoking a strong reaction from the media. This article revisits some of the most important developments in the debate on abortion over the last few years, for the purpose of identifying the key actors in the debate, their contributions, and the responses that have emerged as a result.
