Sumario:This scientific research addresses a topic that is little known in the national market and its purpose is to introduce the reader to smart contracts, known as smart contracts. A descriptive and documentary analytical methodology was used to analyze both their terminology and specialized concepts, as well as the possible advantages and disadvantages when celebrating them, to obtain a critical vision of the new paradigm of technology and innovation and the need for a minimum regulatory framework. That guarantees compliance with the general principles of Private Law, in particular the principle of good faith and the autonomy of the will in observance of the international norms of Commercial Law. The results of the study contribute to the democratization of knowledge in order to arouse interest in the use of this new contractual modality. In this way, it seeks to promote legal progress and commercial traffic as mechanisms for the development of the country’s economy.
