Sumario:Innovation in the use of pedagogical tools to promote the active participation of students, in this way the present project was developed with the purpose of proposing active methodological strategies to strengthen the reading comprehension of students in the eighth year of General Education Basic of the “José Antonio Lizarzaburu” Basic Education School of the Santa Fe de Ganán parish, of the Guano canton in the 2022-2023 school year, for which, a mixed investigation is developed, making use of quantitative and qualitative research resources , where information on theoretical foundations is collected and a diagnosis of two control and experimental groups is generated, evidencing differences between the implementation or not of the active methodological strategies, being that a greater positive variation was obtained in the group that received the integration of planning, with the ratings varying from unsatisfactory to satisfactory in all areas and skills evaluated, while in the control group the variation was not very significant, emanating from the need to integrate new resources and changes in the planning of the activities.
