Descripción
Sumario:This thesis explores the representation of indigenous Mapuche voices in Cautiverio Feliz (1673) by Francisco Núñez de Pineda y Bascuñán. For this purpose, the rhetorical and discursive characteristics of the Mapuche interventions in the literary work are described, in the light of its colonial context; the situations and themes they deal with in their conversations and parliaments are identified; and the indigenous complaints and demands the Creole author incorporates in the framework of the Arauco War are critically analyzed, in order to understand the discursive and political implications that his incorporation of the indigenous voice has in the questioning of the colonial order of Chile in the 17th century.
