Sumario:The study matter of this research is the corpus of art criticisms written by Sonia Quintana, Víctor Carvacho and Ana Helfant since 1977 to 1982. These art critics were highly active during these years of Chilean dictatorship and supported the government by producing art criticisms in national circulation magazines and newspapers. Through their writings it is possible to observe how they spread a discourse about art, using their political position and influence which resulted in not only an open support to the regime, but also the incorporation of works of art of the resistance avant-garde. This kind of negotiations allow questions about how official and non-official art field were connected in different forms and not always was the two fields separated spheres as historiography of Chilean art has told.
