Description
Summary:In the context of including children and adolescents in catechesis, there is a growing search for active methodologies that can meet the needs of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder – ASD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder – ODD. This article investigates the possibility of including children and adolescents with ASD and ODD in the catechesis of the Paroquia Imaculada Conceição in Guassussê/Orós, highlighting the importance of adapting catechetical practices to meet their specific needs. Although challenging, the objective is to ensure that children and adolescents with ASD and ODD can fully participate in meetings and catechetical activities, promoting learning through adapted practices and appropriate stimuli. The application of personalized methodologies for each child and adolescent demonstrates the project's commitment to the inclusion of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder in catechesis. Adapted practices and appropriate stimuli are essential to ensure that every child and adolescent has the opportunity to engage and learn in a meaningful way. The personalized approach adopted by the project reflects a solid commitment to inclusion, recognizing the specific needs of these young people and seeking to integrate them in a welcoming and effective way.
