Resumo:This work had as its object of study popular education and educational workshops as a teaching-learning methodology, describing them from their construction to practice, thus aiming to present the methodological model of the workshops based on Freire’s perspectives and analyzed, the from the historical-ideological point of view of the trajectory of popular education in Brazil. The analysis of the author’s experience report together with the Coletivo Raiz Popular is the tool for discussing the theme together with the knowledge raised by authors of great academic relevance, such as Paulo Freire, Vygotsky, among others. The conclusion points to methodology as a tool of liberating education, proponent of dialogue as a fundamental device of methodology, horizontal relationships and the search for critical awareness of the assets involved.
