Sumario:The Quotas Law for People with Disabilities was published in 2016. Since then, Brazilian universities have been organized to carry out certain procedures, such as the application of tests, structuring of commissions to act in the evaluation and monitoring processes of quota holders and enable the your permanence. In this article, we explain the process of schooling these people and the quota policy as an affirmative action for admission to higher education. We discuss our experience in working with the validation committee of the applicants' disability conditions and their follow-up at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). We conclude that actions are emerging for the entry of this population, reaffirming inclusion and equity in the school space.
