Sumario:In the article I analyze the process of institutionalization of the communist-oriented feminist movement in Brazil between 1945 and 1949, a moment of divided paths between democracy and authoritarianism. In 1945, the end of the Second World War favored the emergence and rearticulation of several feminist groups that were not always ideologically convergent. In the process, the Women›s Institute of Constructive Service (IFSC), founded in 1946, stood out for its organizational capacity and national and international articulation. Here, the purpose is to investigate the disputes and tensions that involved the construction of a feminist national front that culminated, in 1949, to the creation of the Federation of Women of Brazil (FMB).
