| Sumario: | This paper proposes a technique for the teaching-learning of vowel structures forming hiatus in Spanish at university level. First of all, it is evidenced that these students have difficulties in recognizing hiatus combinations; that is, syllabic awareness about hiatuses is very poor when they come to university. Secondly, a training technique that, in global terms, demonstrated its effectiveness is presented. Finally, the most and the least useful strategies at the different stages of training are discussed. |
