Descripción
Sumario:This article aims to explore the multiple facets of sexual violence in the digital age, analyzing its evolution and the challenges and impacts resulting from this transformation. Using a literature review, the study examines the historical evolution of social perceptions about sexual violence and the contemporary challenges posed by digitalization. A growing increase in cases involving technologies such as social networks and messaging applications is observed, highlighting the ease with which aggressors adapt to the digital environment and the difficulties faced by victims in reporting or even recognizing the aggression as a crime. The results reveal a significant increase in digital sexual violence crimes, such as ‘virtual rape’, and highlight the gaps in current policies and laws to address these new forms of aggression. The study concludes that it is crucial to constantly update legislation to adapt to new digital tools and implement protective measures, such as public policies on digital education, in order to effectively address the challenges of sexual violence in the virtual environment.
