Description
Summary:The purpose of this article is to understand the performance of the Military Justice in relation to homicide cases that occurred in the state of Minas Gerais and which has as suspects of its military police practice. The study is based on the assumption of the importance of controlling police violence in a democratic state, which has proved to be flawed in Brazil, which even in the democratic regime continued to link the police forces to the armed forces, marked by a differentiated system of justice in which Submitted their members in the condition of military personnel. As an empirical basis of the study, will be analyzed the military criminal proceedings, made available in the city of Belo Horizonte, referring to cases occurred in the last ten years. From the scrutiny of this source of information, I intend to problematize the limits in the control of police violence carried out by the Military Justice.
