Descripción
Sumario:The present text analyzes the accountability policies implemented in the state education systems of Ceará, Pernambuco and Paraíba (Brazil). It evaluates their provisions and how they articulate the pillars of external evaluation, accountability and responsibility, differentiating the designs of accountability policies in piecemeal forms, models and systems. The study is qualitative, descriptive and explanatory in nature, and is based on literature review and analysis of educational policy documents. As a result, it was found that states adopt “high accountability” policies in different stages of complexity, revealing models and systems of accountability, using tools of the results-oriented managerial model.
