Sumario:This study aimed to draw a picture on the issue of sexuality and gender in queer theory, through description and analysis of the main authors and their contributions. For this purpose have been described the fundamental theoretical assumptions that defend queer theory as a new epistemological approach to unveil as in modern Western society is articulated speeches to the imposition of compulsory heterosexuality and binary categories of persons who produce stigmatized, discriminated against and without access rights of citizenship.
