Sumario:Objective: Analysis of Tuberculosis (TB) incidence and epidemiologicalfeatures through the notified cases from TB vigilance control indicators,according to the National Tuberculosis Control Plan guidelines (NTCP).Methodology: Descriptive study of Sao Paulo State Secretary of Health- TB information system database. The new TB cases from Santosmunicipality inhabitants, who had started treatment from January/2004to December/2013 were selected for this study. Results: 3.339 new TBcases were notified, with a male predominance, 64.2% with 21.4%, aged40-49 y/o. The clinical form distribution was: pulmonary 83.2%, extrapulmonary16.6%, and not informed 0.2%. Supervised treatment wasgiven to 80.0% bacillary TB cases. Cure, death and abandon rates were78%, 6%, 2%, 8% and 14.8%, respectively. HIV serological testing wasperformed in 78.1% patients, with a positive rate of 14.3%. In 2013, theincidence coefficient for the all TB disease forms was 73.2/100 thousandinh. and the mortality was 3.5/100 thousand inh. The main TB careunits with the highest new case rates by city areas were: Central area421.6 cases/10 thousand inh. followed by Northeast area 104.0 cases/10thousand inh. Conclusion: TB has shown an overwhelming burden in allmunicipality areas. Although Santos municipality owns a well structuredPublic Health System, it was not able to achieve the control goalssuggested by NTCP.
