Sumario:The psychological consultation-liaison is a psychological tool used by professional to understand and improve patient care in the general hospital. This study aimed to characterize the type of demand met by a psychological consultation-liaison from an university hospital. We performed a retrospective documentary research and a survey of the records of psychological Consultation-liaison, from September 2011 to February 2012. The results indicated that the majority of patients are female, with 30 to 50 years of age, residing in the city where the hospital is located; psychological consultation-liaison requests are made are often by nurses and doctors, with prevalence motives of depressive moods and anxiety. It concluded that the psychological consultation-liaison is a visible way of applying the concept of interdisciplinarity and integration of the psychologist in the multidisciplinary team, however, the training of professionals flawed as the standardization of procedures and skills to search.
