Summary:The aim of the present commentary on Denis Fisette’s article “Franz Brentano and Higher-Order Theories of Consciousness” is to discuss his account of Brentano’s principle of the unity of consciousness from the Complex Systems perspective. Initially a summary of Fisette’s writings on Brentano’s principle of the unity of consciousness is presented. Hypotheses of the Complex Systems Theory are, then, presented in order to provide foundations for an informational interpretation of Fisette’s complexity problem.
