| Resumo: | The Green Roof is a sustainable roofing system that is increasingly widespread in civil construction in several countries. The search for sustainable applications in buildings makes this item gain strength, in addition to contributing to the improvement in thermal comfort, air quality, reducing electricity consumption and being a contemplative attraction and enhancer of a property. This work was developed with the objective of analyzing theoretical and practical aspects of the green roof to guarantee the viability of its implementation at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Fluminense (IFF) in the city of Macaé / RJ. Among advantages and disadvantages, the bibliographic review shows through maps and images the impact of the presence of vegetation in the microclimate of a place as well as the temperature in a green roof. The study's conclusions include that the green roof contributes to the reduction of the internal temperature of a building and that the implementation of the Green Roof at the IFF will be in harmony with the place that is already wooded. |
